Hardness Comparison / Wood Species
Not all wood species are equally hard. Each has its own characteristics.
Characteristic of a wood species, alongside its appearance, is the hardness of the wood. The Brinell value indicates the hardness of a wood species. To determine the hardness, a steel ball with a diameter of 10 mm is pressed into the wood surface for 30 seconds with a load of 1000 N. The higher the resulting Brinell value, the harder and more resistant the wood is.
