Stringer Post

At the bottom of a staircase, the handrail starts with a post, and this initial post is called the stringer post. The post located at the top end is referred to as the exit post.

Riser

The bottom step of a staircase is referred to as the "starting step" or "first step." All subsequent steps are referred to as "tread steps."

Tread

Block step

Block step refers to the first step of a staircase (the rise) that is wider than the remaining steps and thus protrudes laterally over the stair stringers.

CPL-Laminate

Rebate stairs

These are stair steps that are inset into the stair stringer (side of the staircase) and are only found in wooden stairs.

Handrail

Headroom

Headroom refers to the clearance height under stair treads. The minimum clearance height required is 2.00 meters.

Krümmling

Krümmling is a handrail that curves around the stair newel post.

Tread width

The tread width refers to the distance between the two sides of the staircase. The maximum usable tread width is the measurement between the wall and the outer staircase stringer.

Can be installed in the step or in the stringer. Energy-efficient LED for safe illumination of the stair steps, serving as an optical highlight of any renovated staircase.

Offene Treppe

Ist eine Treppe ohne Stellstufen, wird rechts und links von einer Holzwange getragen. Auch solche Treppen können problemlos mit dem HAFA-System renoviert werden.

Raumspartreppe

Bei geringer Grundfläche für den Bau einer Treppe empfiehlt sich eine Raumspartreppe zu errichten. Durch die Bauart bedingt, lässt sich die Treppe ausschließlich jeweils mit der gleichen Schrittfolge (im Wechsel links und rechts) begangen werden. Nachteilig bis unmöglich ist der Transport sperriger Gegenstände und für Fluchtwege ist eine Raumspartreppe nicht zugelassen.

Treppenlauflänge

Die Treppenlauflänge hat ein endliches Maß, sie bezeichnet den Gehbereich einer gewendelten Treppe. Treppenläufe müssen nach 15 bis 18 Steigungen durch ein Ruhepodest unterbrochen werden. Treppenpodeste sollen eine Tiefe haben, die mindestens der Treppenlaufbreite entspricht. Sie müssen so bemessen sein, dass eine Krankentrage und größere Möbelstücke transportiert werden können. Die Podestfläche ist auf die Schrittlängebzw. das Schrittmaß der Treppe abzustimmen. Es dürfen keine Türen in die Podestfläche hineinschlagen. Wegen der Unfallgefahr sollen extrem kurze Treppenläufe, d.h. einzelne oder weniger als drei Stufen, in Fluren nicht angeordnet werden.

Treppenpodest

Findet man vor allem bei 1/2 gewendelten Treppen in der Wendung vor.

Treppensteigung

Die Steigungshöhe wird berechnet aus Gesamttreppenhöhe der Stufen geteilt durch die Anzahl der Stufen.

Treppenstufe

Besteht aus Trittstufe (Lauffläche) und aus Stellstufe/Setzstufe (steht auf dem hinteren Teil der Trittstufe). Bei einer offenen Treppe wird auf die Stellstufe verzichtet.

Treppenwange

Ist der seitliche Abschluss der Treppenstufe. Auf der freistehenden Wange wird, wenn nötig, ein Geländer befestigt.

Wangenabdeckleiste
